What is this website?

Android on HTC strives to be the definitive resource for running Android on devices such as the Kaiser (AT&T Tilt, HTC TyTN II, MDA Vario III, XDA Stellar), Polaris (HTC Touch Cruise), Vogue (HTC Touch CDMA, Verizon XV6900, Sprint Touch, Okta Touch), Titan (HTC Titan, xv6800, Bell PPC6800, Mogul), Diamond (HTC Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV), Raphael (AT&T Fuze, HTC Touch Pro), Topaz (HTC Touch Diamond2, AT&T Pure) and Rhodium (AT&T Tilt 2, HTC Touch Pro2).More recently, there has also been preliminary work on booting Android on other Windows Mobile devices, including the Sony Xperia x2.

The port has been most successful for the HTC HD2 (HTC T8585, HTC T9193, HTC Leo), which shares many hardware similarities to modern Android devices.

If you're a developer, you should read the Get Involved page to learn how you can help with the port!

Android on HTC is available in two flavors: a ROM that is flashed to your device which overwrites Windows Mobile, or an application stored on your SD card that runs within Windows Mobile and reboots your device into Android without altering your device at all.

To check on the current status of the Android port, please visit the Port Status page or have a look at the XDA-Developers Wiki page.

Who is HTC?

HTC is a major smartphone manufacturer, originally producing primarily Windows Mobile phones, although they have recently changed their focus to Android devices. They manufacture the Google Nexus One and EVO 4G in addition to many other devices. However, due to the similarities in hardware, many of their Windows Mobile phones are physically capable of running Android (including the latest versions such as 2.2 FroYo and 2.3 Gingerbread). These phones include the AT&T Tilt and AT&T Tilt 2 as well as the HTC HD2.
